How to reset Internet Explorer settings



Is browsing always slow in Internet Explorer? Does it frequently freeze or crash? Do you receive error messages that say Internet Explorer has "encountered a problem and has to close"? Or messages that a Visual C++ "runtime error" has occurred in Iexplore.exe?

To reset Internet Explorer automatically, follow these steps:

  1. Click this button:
  2. In the File Download dialog box, click Run, and then follow the steps in the wizard.
  3. In the Reset Internet Explorer Settings dialog box, click Reset.

Click to select the Delete personal settings check box if you also want to remove browsing history, search providers, Accelerators, home pages, Tracking Protection, and ActiveX Filtering data.

Which version are you using now a prior version will usually only mask an issue,
What security suite do you have installed/ seems the only common item,
Reset ie
Internet options/ Advanced section/ Reset button on the bottom/ Check the box to Delete Personal settings/ Use the Recommended settings and Install.
Check for windows updates/ list any Failed updates.
